Our Credentials & Legal Framework
We operate openly. Here is the legal ground we stand on, the industry rules we follow, and who you can check on us.
Federal Statutes We Work Under
Our entire service model rests on two federal acts. Neither is new, and both are public record.
Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a)
Passed after the Watergate era to curb government misuse of personal data, the Privacy Act tells federal agencies they cannot demand your Social Security Number unless a specific statute authorizes it. Section 7 is the one to read. Private businesses can ask for your SSN, but they cannot deny you service for refusing to give it in contexts the Act protects. This is the legal doorway that legitimate credit privacy numbers walk through. We do not invent that doorway; Congress built it.

Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA)
CROA (15 U.S.C. §§ 1679 et seq.) sets the rules for any business that charges a fee to help consumers with credit. We follow every one of them:
- No fees collected before services are performed.
- Written contract before work begins, with an itemized description of what we will do and how long it will take.
- Three-day cancellation window with no penalty, in writing, on the first page of the contract.
- Plain disclosure that you have the right to dispute items directly with credit bureaus yourself, for free.
- No guarantees of a specific score outcome. Anyone who promises you an exact number is breaking CROA.
The FTC enforces CROA. If we violate it, you can sue us and the FTC can sue us. That is the accountability baked into our contract.
Industry Rules We Also Follow
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
When we dispute an item with Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion on your behalf, the bureau has 30 days to investigate (45 if you send new documentation mid-cycle). That clock comes from FCRA § 611, not from us. We simply use the law the way it was designed.
Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
You opt in before we text or call you. Every message has a stop keyword. Rates you pay the carrier are on you; we never charge for the text itself.
State Consumer Protection Laws
Several states (California, New York, Illinois among them) layer their own credit repair and debt adjustment statutes on top of CROA. We structure contracts and pricing to satisfy whichever state you live in. If you live somewhere with stricter rules, those are the rules we follow for you.
What We Will Never Say
Because CROA draws the line, we draw it too. We will not tell you:
- “We guarantee a 700+ score.” No honest service can.
- “Use this number instead of your SSN on your taxes.” A credit file is not a tax ID. Do not cross that line.
- “Hide debts from your creditors.” Nothing we do conceals debt. Disputes run on factual, inaccurate, or unverifiable line items only.
- “You can build credit overnight.” Real tradeline history takes weeks at minimum, months at typical.

- Better Business Bureau profile.
- Public record of any FTC or state AG action (there is none against us).
- Customer reviews on our reviews page and Trustpilot.
